Professional Technical Writer.
Writing has been my passion from the very early life. In school I wrote short stories, poems, essays, and articles reporting on our school activities and especially those related to the sports activities. After college I started my career in the Healthcare industry by creating a company that supplied Medical equipment and supplies to the various healthcare faciities and the end-users. This involment gave me an exposure to the needs of healthcare facilities. I was intrigued by the amount of written documentation that these facilites needed in their operations.
With my love for writing, I decided to enroll at Grand Canyon University (GCU) to earn a degree in Professonal English Writing. I will be complete my Bachelor of Art with emphasis in Professional English Writing, by the end of February, 2024. During the four years of my study here, I was able to learn writing correctly in multiple genre of business, engineering, and healthcare. During these years, competent instructors, mostly with doctrate degrees in their specialities, taught the many intricacies of Englaish language.
I am now confident that I can confidently write on Business, engineering, medical, and legal subjects. Five specimens of my writing related to various subjects are being showcased here to illustrate versatality of my writing skills. I am also furthering my education by enrolling in a Masters of Public Affairs (MPA) degree program. I believe that earning an MPA while gaining experience in professionally writing will enhance my chances of landing a long-term employment in a reputable educational, Medical, or an engineering research institution.
My hearts desire is to write for the Medical Industry. There is a dire need for professional writers within the medical industry as it heavily relies on the record keeping. Mandatory recording of treatment plans and procedures administered to the patient is recorded by the doctors and is transcribed in written form. Several training manuals, instructional manuals, Material data sheets, equipment assembling manuals, flow-charts describing many functions, and Policies and procedures book for operational matters are just a few of the writting requirements.
I believe that the demand for professional writers for the Healthcare Industry will increase with passage of time. The population demographics of the US shows an increased requirement of Healthcare facilities. This will result in more documentation and eventually in the need of proffessional writers who could successfull product simple but highly effective documents.

Resolving a Conflict
The root cause of conflicts is others’ perception of an issue. For example, perceivers see as if the goals were different, there were no resources to satisfy mutual expectations, or others were blockading something valued by the perceiver. Thus, the difference in the thinking pattern of two or more individuals often leads to conflict. Conflicts are multi-dimensional, and they cannot be resolved unless broken down into small components. Since there are many conflict styles, it is essential to identify what conflict style existed in a given situation. Resolution can only be sought when the type or the nature of the conflict is recognized.
Conflicts exist in all walks of life. They are seen at the home, workplace, educational institutions, and religious organizations. People have opinions, and when opinions are not in-line, a negative perception is formed, resulting in conflict. Some are rooted in interdependence, where one has expectations, while others result from due or undue interference. Opinionated people opt to interfere without being asked for advice or a suggestion. Such behavior immediately gives birth to the negative perception that manifests as a conflict. Sometimes, people fail to communicate clearly and thus leave their communication vague and unclear, leading to perceived interference that also transforms into a conflict.
Conflicts can be destructive by nature. Especially those that are left unresolved. Empirically speaking, the writer can relate to a recent conflict at Church that started as a tiny spark of contention but quickly flared up into an inter-personal conflict inferno. The music ministry at this Church comprises young people who are either students or have entry-level jobs. They volunteer their time to practice on Thursdays, Saturday evenings, and the three services on Sundays. This schedule is quite taxing for many who have to catch up with their school work or varying shifts at their jobs.
The music minister who holds a paid position on the Church’s payroll demands too much commitment from the hobbyist musicians. So he recently got annoyed when a girl who plays the flute did not show up for Thursday or Saturday rehearsals. Yet, she showed up for the Sunday services to be with the group and perform onstage. The music minister, who did not like her move, asked her to get off the stage and then imposed four weeks of probation on the worship team. The poor girl was devasted and complained it to her father, a board member of the Church. He immediately called a meeting of the board to discuss the music minister’s behavior.
The father of the girl made a motion before the board to dismiss the music minister. Blaming that he was unfair and had failed to ask for an explanation from his daughter to justify her absence from the music practice, yet showed up for the performance of Sunday morning. The writer is also a board member and was amazed at how a minor issue was blown out of proportion. The seven board members suggested asking the music director to explain and ask the young girl to explain her part of the story.
It was a typical case of exacerbating a conflict that could have been resolved quickly. After hearing the two sides, the board members reacted differently. This writer’s stance was to engage in a more empathic way (Kelleburer T. 2021). It was not obliging, collaborating, or dominating, but mainly compromising, knowing that no conflict should be escalated (Hocker, J. L., & Wilmot, W. W. (2017). Therefore, an analysis of the situation was conducted to ascertain the perspective of the two parties involved. The guidelines of his assignment bound the music minister. He was required to present a praise and worship segment of the service flawlessly. Each praise team member was required to master the songs and music selected for the specific week. In doing so, each member must employ enough interest, time, and effort to participate to become excellent in their part of the worship. When one member fails to do so, they should stay away until the following week. The girl who missed the practice did not comply with the requirements. Instead, she showed up for the performance only.
Analyzing the situation from the girl’s perspective, she was confident with her musical prowess. Therefore, the rehearsal was not all that important, and that she was still able to carry on and participate. In doing so, she did violate the guidelines of the music director. However, when asked to leave the stage, she took it personally and used her position as a board member’s daughter to instigate her father against the music director. The father was more moved emotionally and hastened to go against the music director, who was only carrying out his duties.
The author was finally able to talk to other board members and convince them that the conflict had unnecessarily escalated. Other board members cross-examined my conflict resolution and agreed that compromise was the best approach to resolving this conflict. Eventually, both the music director and the praise team members were brought together to discuss the guidelines. The music director held his position and did not deviate from his decision to off-stage a flute player. That hurt person also realized that she had acted arrogantly and unfairly in instigating her father against the Music Minister. The subject board member apologized to the Music minister, and the matter was all resolved with commitments from all parties to adhere to the written guidelines.
The above narrative is a typical example of an attempted destructive conflict. Had the board member changed the perception of at least four more board members, they would have voted the music minister out. A small problem would have led to the destruction of someone’s professional calling. The scenario teaches us that one should not jump to a conclusion but seek explanations and find reasons and causes to resolve a conflict. Conflicts are like tiny sparks that, when fanned with emotions, dogmas, or preconceived ideas, can exacerbate into an inferno that can destroy lives.
Conflicts often require external stimuli to get resolved. Conflicting parties can behave in a variety of ways that can include avoidance and shutting down all communication. However, communication is the only catalyst that can turn a conflicting situation into a satisfying and lasting relationship. To do so, a broad and open mind is a prerequisite. A positive attitude towards an issue will give birth to a positive perception that will never cause a conflict but rather an amicable resolution from the conflict’s inception.

An Analysis of “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d”
Walt Whitman was an accomplished American Poet(1819-1892) who wrote “When Lilacs last n the Dooryard Bloom’d.” in 1865. It was the year that President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. This long poem comprising 206 lines divided into 16 stanzas, was Whitman’s elegy for the fallen President. In this poem, Whitman uses a lot of emotion to describe his grief while painting a picture of the mourning that the whole country experienced. His ability to describe the events that followed President’s assassination in such vivid detail makes the reader engrossed in his narrative. Though the poem is sad and painful to read, its literary richness is such that one cannot leave it until the end. Whitman uses elements of nature, his personal life, his experience with the war, his desire for death, and the sacrifices of the wounded and dead soldiers. In studying this poem, readers can get an impression that Whitman had strayed from the subject, but with the play of his words; he reconnects it to the mourning events of President Lincoln’s death.
The poem’s lines start with the poet reminiscing about the assassination of President Lincoln on April 24, a season that coincided with the blooming of beautiful Lilacs that year. He symbolizes Lincoln as the Northern Star taken down from its specific setting. Although the poet admits that he had mourned and would continue to do so when the providence would bring the annual re-blooms of Lilac, he projects he would never forget Abraham Lincoln, whom he loved so much. Abraham Lincoln was the first president that was assassinated mercilessly. His death shocked the nation, and prolonged mourning included his dead body being carried from Washington to Illinois on a processional train. Whitman seizes this opportunity to write his condolences as a poem to pay his tribute to the dead President. In doing so, he paints a picture of how the President died an untimely death just when the spring had brought the blooms and that the fragrance of the fresh flower had enriched the atmosphere. First, the poet laments and asks the birds and other imaginary elements of nature to join him in mourning. Later, he becomes so sad that he starts to feel his death and accepts that he, too, will die someday and that death as an experience could not be avoided. In these moments, he recalls his time in the war and the pain and suffering of the wounded soldiers.
The poem was written as an elegy—a genre in which sadness and misery are described without mentioning the deceased’s name. By doing so, such elegy could also be used elsewhere in a careful analysis of “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d,” Whitman did not mention president Lincoln by his name. Instead, he uses symbols of Lilacs, a Northern Star, a Hermit Thrush (a brown sparrow-like bird), etc., when alluding to Lincoln’s persona. Here Whitman uses many fine lines to paint a mental picture of the cities, their mourning people, fields and gardens, and ever-changing scenery to describe the progression of the processional train carrying Lincoln’s body. The poet then becomes a little sentimental in narrating that he doesn’t have much to present at the grave of whom he loved except a branch of Lilacs and a song emanating from his heart.
“When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d” -was considered a Pastrol elegy. The one that, besides descriptive mourning, also described the reality and death experience. Along with conveying the collective emotions of the mournful nation, it alluded to the true meaning of death, its inevitability, and how one would experience it someday. Whitman narrated this at length and called the fact of death and its ultimate experience his two companions that he cannot leave. Contemporary literary critics commended Whitman for showing maturity and soberness in this pastoral elegy. In composing this poem, Whitman deviated from the regular norms of poetry, such as maintaining rhythmic balance, fixed amount of words, and strictly formatted lines, to a certain number. Instead, he fluctuated with each stanza, writing it from at least six lines to as many as 25. The subject poem has said to be rewritten and refined repeatedly by Whitman, and its stanzas were also rearranged. The poem’s rich text and composition require a deliberate effort to read and understand it. Its diction, heavy vocabulary and free-form writing can confuse a casual reader. However, when perused attentively, it reveals that the poem is a Pastoral elegy written for President Lincoln in sympathy for his assassination.
Pastoral elegy employs a lot of imaginative scenarios, and it plays with the people’s emotions to make them feel the intensity of the grief and then heal and restore them by instilling hope. When applied politically, it helps the nation to come out of desperation and sorry to emanate from a national tragedy. Pastoral elegy also projects the death experience and credits deceased people for their positive and worthy aspects of life. Pastoral elegies often display processions, hearse decoration, grave beautification, and floral coverings in seasonal flowers. In that respect, the Lilacs were in prominence at Lincoln’s funeral, and the poet knowing this fact, repeatedly mentioned the Lilacs.
Whitman’s applied a myriad of writing techniques in his poetry. For example, he used parallelism he gets from his study of the King James Bible. But he did not use metered rhyme to end his sentences in Lincoln’s elegy. Instead, used it at mid-sentence pauses. This poem represents his free-form-verse writing, which he compliments by using refined diction, appropriate vocabulary, and words relevant to a subject and occasion. It seems he wrote these verses under the influence of his heartfelt sorrow and not the literary rationale. The poem is a poet’s imagination. He likely never left his home to see the processional train and the states and cities it crossed. Yet Whitman paints a beautiful picture of the hills and meadows, gardens and the fields, streets and buildings, and the people in their mourning veils waiting to pay homage to their beloved President. He was perhaps never there at his burial place to adorn the President’s chamber with his song or to lay the only present he could bring to him- the Lilac sprig.
Whitman was an opportunist too. When he learned that Peter Eckler, a Brooklyn printer, was publishing Witman’s 43 poems, the “Drum-Taps, within weeks of President Lincoln’s assassination, Whitman made him delay the publication so that he could include an improvised poem “Hush’d Be the Camps To-Day.” At another time, when he returned to Washington, he contracted with Gibson Brothers to publish 18 of his poems pertinent to Lincoln’s assassination. This publication included “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d” and “O Captain! My Captain.” The following verses from this poem depicts what Whitman would say.
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
He titled the publication a sequel to the “Drum-Taps.”
Whitman’s poems are indeed a literary treasure that is enriching for the readers. “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d” is a verified pastoral elegy because it contains all features of this genre. Pastrol elegy references death, funeral processions, and mourning of individuals and society. It touches on grief, anger, and advice, implying consolation and emotional healing. Whitman also used techniques like intelligent repetitions to emphasize his ideas or comments. This method allows the poet to go on a little rabbit trail and then return to the subject without losing the audience’s attention. In this regard, the audience can fathom well and would have no trouble resuming from where they last left. Whitman’s literary contributions to American literature are commendable and a great source of learning the techniques of writing poetry in general, and the elegy in particular

GOP Candidates Must Have 40,000 Donors And Poll At 1% To Make the First Debate Stage
America is setting up the stage for the presidential elections of 2024. It’s an event that Americans go through every four years in electing or reelecting the commander in chief of their country. As a result, journalists representing various publications have started to sharpen their pens to cover every step of the election process, ensuring nothing goes amiss. The following 18 months of political campaigning by the two major parties of America will bring its citizen a lot of information, political awareness, extra expenses, and entertainment of a unique nature. The curtain for the political drama is about to be lifted for the spectators to see how well their favorite election star will perform.
This election process is less taxing on the Democratic party this time. The incumbent president and his team will defend their office for their second term. But, of course, there will be other Democratic contestants who will challenge the present president. Still, history has shown that it is usually tricky to unthrone a sitting president by his party. However, the growing dissatisfaction among the democrats about the age-related health decline of the incumbent president is a substantial concern. Thus Democratic contestants are gearing up for a showdown at the forthcoming elections.
The Republican party, on the other hand, is gearing up to take back the White House with a careful strategy. Chief among the contestants is former President Donald Trump, who did not accept the results of the 2020 elections. Instead, he was adamant that he had won the election and was being defrauded by the Democratic Party’s well-devised plot to oust him from his presidency. In defending his office, he fought back fiercely through the court system and instigated his supporters to adopt unsophisticated protest methods. At the end, he had no choice but to pack up and go.
After fighting through multiple law suites for the last four years, President Trump has announced to run again in 2024 to win the White House again. But he is not alone; several other candidates, both old and new, are willing to take a shot at the U.S. presidency, the world’s most influential and prestigious job position. To trigger their election campaigns, each candidate has to rely upon small donors who can collectively raise enough finances to support their candidate in meeting the election campaign expenses. These expenses that run into millions of dollars must be in place before the first debate scheduled for August of this year.
This year, the Republican National Committee (RNC) wants each contestant to prove a 40000 donor base. And at least 1% of good support. Candidates cannot participate in the first presidential debate if they fail to provide evidence of support (EOS) to the election commissioner at least one day before the discussion. Contestants like former President Trump, Gov. Chris Christie, Gov. Ron Desantis, and Biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy have proven to carry a donor base exceeding 40K.
An excellent presidential election campaign is estimated to cost between 100 to 150 million dollars. When analyzed, the cumulative expenditure of qualifying one candidate for the nomination alone can cost about a billion-dollar budget. When calculated for both parties, and taking into consideration the preparation, traveling, entertaining, printing marketing materials, making souvenirs, and mobilizing millions of helping hands around the country, it perhaps costs about five Billion dollars before one person emerges as a winner of the U.S. presidency for one term of four years.
Can there be a more straightforward process that can save the five billion dollar expenses and yet get the same results? I am sure with present-day technological advances, a method can be devised to do all campaigning digitally in a virtual environment. Electronic voting, counting, and verification can all be done by creating advanced election-handling software. Perhaps all voters can log into a central portal of their party, and select their candidate, ancillary candidates, and to vote according to their choice from the privacy of their homes.
Such eventual breakthroughs in election campaigning, nominating, voting, counting, monitoring, and tabulating results will result in saving much time and expenditure. The candidates may still carry a donor base, but instead of consuming millions of dollars in advertisements, traveling, and entertaining, the finances collected can be preserved in favor of the winner to be spent in a dometic project of the highest need. The us voters will definitely admire their financial contribution going to a worthy cause, instead of being blown away in TV advertisements to sway opinions.
Such a radical change in election reforms requires biparitisan support in Washington. But before getting to that point, some software publisher must invest in research and development of a software model that can accurately handle the election process at each phase. Some similar platforms are already exist in the entertainment industry. Creating a fail proof portal for the voters to log in, establish their identity through biometrics, getting double verified in real time, and voting from a private IP address, is all possible even with the present technology applications. All it needs is to fine tune it for precision.
Such advancement when achieved will align with other technologies that are forthcoming. Elections will continue to happen every four years, and the price of five billion dollars will keep escalating. The next 10 elections may cost as high as 100 billion dollars to the tax payers. If a proper changes are made now, this huge monetary expense can be avoided. The saved funds can then be utilized in other necessary projects that will have a longterm impact for the US voters.

Clintonomics.
On their arrival at the white house to start their administration, President Clinton and Vice Preside Albert Gore started on various financial reforms. Clinton picked over one hundred young baby boomers to run key positions in his administration. He also appointed women on important positions reflecting the influence of his wife Hilary Clinton the most powerful first lady of all times. The unemployment was running at 7%, and with private sectors unions becoming ineffective the unemployment wasn’t improving. Furthermore, many manufacturers opted for offshore manufacturing to become more competitive in facing Pacific rim Countries. US manufacturers had to make radical management changes to eliminate middle management jobs, and to stress their employees for higher efficiency and outputs. Under this administration in 1993, Congress enacts a five-year fiscal plan designed to fix the economy. The plan raised upper- level taxes from 31% to 36% on the rich while easing off on the lower income tax payors. A five-year plan introduced many other programs including North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) that allowed its three partners, Mexico, United States, and Canada to freely trade and move their goods within the three countries (Klein, L. R. (1994, March 1).
Clinton also introduced GATT which lowered tariff on manufactured goods and eased off on the import tariffs on goods exported from the Pacific rim countries. At one stage Clinton had to resolve a problem with Japan, who was restricting the sales of American automobile parts in Japan while dumping their cars into the US markets. Clinton threatened to increase tariff on the import of these cars to make them lose their market in the US. Japan had to agree and allow US to sell parts in Japan. Clinton also handled gun violence by increase budget allocations for the law enforcement agencies. He sanctioned 30 billion dollars to expand and strengthen the law efforcement forces. President Clinton then embarked on overhauling the health insurance for 45 million uninsured Americans. He wanted to make it mandatory for the employers to provide 80% of the premium costs for their employees. But those unemployed were to be covered by State or Federally contracted HMOs. The cost of such a complex program was estimated at about 100 billion dollars that Clinton hopes to retrieve by taxing the tobacco Industry. All these measures of Clintonomics only improved a little of the economy and a slight unemployment rate.
Mid-term Election of 1994
The mid-term election of 1994 was plagued with many scandals of the Clinton administration. With Republicans controlling the congress and the senate, the conservative republicans attacked Clinton by digging at his private life and old financial dealings going back to his day of Arkansas’ governorship. The White-gate scandal that was linked to some land development deal Clinton did, Travel-gate that was about firing of some Whitehouse employees, the file gate, a scandal about destroyed files related to White-gate scandal, and then there was Trooper gate where an Arkansas state employee Paula Jones, alleged that a state trooper took her to a hotel room where Clinton solicited a sexual act with her.
All these scandals led to a panel of federal judges appointing an independent investigative committee headed by Kenneth Starr, chief solicitor of the Bush era, to dig deep into this scandal to find the truth. Kenneth Starr vested with investigating authority, a large staff, and unlimited funding went after Clinton like a hawk. Another group of conservatives led by a young republican Newt Gingrich, went after Clinton to expose of his scandals. Newt Gingrich composed a document “Contract with America,” which was a concise document describing the Conservative major foreign and domestic policies, balance budget, taxes, welfare reforms, legal reforms, and defense spending.
In view of these rising pressures around him. Clinton pivoted by going far from his liberal colleagues and their welfare programs. He became more of a Centrist and started please both the conservatives as-well- as the people in need of welfare. Conservatives didn’t buy his appeasing methods and kept pressurizing more to curb welfare reforms and to back off from government spending. The coined a term “tax and spend” to describe the democratically controlled congress.
The 1994 election was also significant because Republicans were able to take full control of the Congress and the Senate (Owens, J. 1998). With both houses under their control the conservative, with 73 young conservators most with religious affiliations became more aggressive. Their leader Newt Gingrich was chosen as the speaker of the house. With such political strong hold of the Republicans Clinton had to be on his defensive. He agreed to curtail or amend many welfare programs that he had promised during his election campaign. Twice he had to veto Republic budget proposals that would defund social programs. Many government entities that were funded through these programs suffered and had to be shut down partially.
This angered the public and public opinion started to sway towards the Clintonomics. Within two years Newt Gingrich was forced to give up on his agenda. The Republican Congress then accepted Clinton’s proposal. The two sides compromised and worked on several social programs with bipartisan consent.
Balkan War of the 1990
The Balkan wars refer to the biggest war in Europe since World War II. President Clinton’s was pretty much unaware as to what was going on in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It started as an ethnic fighting among the Serbs, Bosnian Muslims, and Croats which had resulted in over 100,000 deaths and displacing 3.5 million people as refugees. Bosnian Muslims were the victims of arms embargo thus being unable to self-defend against the Serbs, and Croats. It was fall of 1995 when US got when the Assistant secretary of State Richard Holbrooke brought heads of the three warring factions to Dayton, Ohio for a conference. The three parties agreed to obey a cease fire and cooperate in a complex peace plan involving some 60000 NATO forces of which 20000 were Americans troops, to be stationed in Bosnia to monitor the cease fire and help work of further resolutions. It worked for a year but later it became complicated, and the American troops had to stay back. Then a war broke out in nearby Kosovo, Yugoslavia, where about 1.8 million Albanians resided forming region’s biggest population.
In 1991 Kosovo Liberation Army was founded to seek independence from Yugoslavia. KLA militants started targeting Serbian soldiers and police stations in Kosovo. In 1998 the KLA waged a fully-fledged war, the Serbs retaliated. UNO forces headed by the American forces were unable to implement the cease fire mandated by the Dayton agreement.
In 1999 General Wesley Clark, head of the NATO forces escalated the Ariel war to force Milosevic to sign a pact that he had been refusing. Milosevic did not care and doubled up on his ethnic cleansing project. This led to a crisis for millions of refugees. The NATO forces kept their air strikes to weaken Milosevic who finally signed an agreement slightly different that the one he had always refused. In the long run the NATO air-strikes did not avail much for Americans who had started to dislike the war. President Clinton’s administration called the war a humanitarian effort. In the process about 300000 people had died and 3 million people were displaced. The cost of the Balkan war exceeded 30 billion US dollars. It was a war that America won, but the price was high.
President Clinton’s impeachment
President Clinton presidency was plagued with many scandals emerging in the early days of his office. First there was Whitewater gate in which president Clinton’s land development deal during the time of his governorship of Arkansas, the case became more viscous when the files related to Whitewater gate (dubbed File gate) were mysteriously missed from the Whitehouse. He also had to face scandal Fliergate when some Travel staff in the Whitehouse were fired. Troopergate that involved a state employee alleging that she was picked up by an Arkansas State trooper and taken to a hotel room where Bill Clinton prospected for a sex with her also became a hot and touch subject. And then there were fundraising scandals where the president was alleged to misappropriate election campaign funds. A special counsel Kenneth Starr was assigned by the Federal judges to investigate the scandals (Popp, K. A. 2000).
In January 1998 all these scandals were dwarfed by a revelation that Clinton had a sexual relationship with a young Whitehouse intern Monica Lewinsky of Beverly Hills California. Kenneth Starr who was already investigating Clinton for three years now convened a grand jury on the 27 of January 1998 to investigate “Monica-gate.” President Clinton was questioned on live national TV he looked into the camera and pointing his index finger stated, “I did not have sex with that woman “Monica Lewinsky.” Thereafter, he refused to answer any questions from the press and kept quiet. Kenneth Starr investigated further and called in many witnesses including Ms. Monica Lewinsky herself, who stated that she did have sex with the president.
Clinton’s rating started to fall while his lawyers tried to stop key witnesses being called in to testify before the grand jury. On July 17th, 1998, Kenneth Starr subpoenaed Bill Clinton to come and testify against the charges of misconduct, breach of trust and misuse of his power before the grand Jury. Clinton agreed on responding to it from the Whitehouse in the presence of his attorneys. In his short speech he conceded that he did have an inappropriate relationship with Monica Lewinsky.
The American public in general did not care at all and opined that Clinton’s personal life issues were of no significance and were no ground to impeach the president. The public loved the President because he had done a great job in running the country by balancing the budget, improving trade relationships, maintaining a cordial foreign policy and bring the unemployment rate down at home. However, Kenneth Starr was able to prove that Bill Clinton had committed perjury, tempered with the witnesses, interrupted justice, and had abused his presidential powers. Bill was later impeached, however the public favor he had won saved him from being removed from the office. Later the senate voted to acquit president of all his wrong doings. He continued successfully leading the country for the rest of his term.
Discuss Operation Iraqi Freedom
There is a long history related to the Operation Iraqi Freedom. In the war of the 80s between Iraq and Iran, America acted as a spectator that helped both sides to stop either side winning. Iraq a major oil producer among the Gulf countries had become military strong by amassing weaponry. America initially thought of Iraq as a counterbalance to stop Iran from becoming a regional power. After 8 years of war, both Iraq and Iran were exhausted. Smaller Arab countries like Kuwait and Saudi Arabia had bankrolled a lot of war expenses for Iraq during its war with Iran. However, at the end of the war, Saddam Hussein refused to pay back any of his debts. In August 1990 he attacked and captured Kuwait. This was a blatant act of war. Kuwait sought American help for liberation. President Bush (senior) orchestrated an international coalition of American, British, European, and Arab nations to wage a war against Iraq (Dursa, E. K., Barth, S. K., Bossarte, R. M., & Schneiderman, A. I. 2016). After the ultimatums to withdraw from Kuwait were ignored by Iraq, a fullfledge war was declared. Initiating from the borders of Saudi Arabia, Iraq was attacked by coalition forces led by the Americans. First a heavy bombing inside Iraq destroyed most of its infra-structure, latter the ground forces made their attach and within hours got deep into Kuwait. The 33 days old war then destroyed all Iraq forces who were compelled to surrender or retreat. Kuwait was liberated and it was celebrated as a victory for American forces.
President bush did not eliminate Saddam Hussein at that time. The reason was that most Arab countries wanted an independent Iraq to exist in its weakened state. America put an oil embargo on Iraqi oil to further choke it from earning revenues that would allow a rebuilding of military arsenal. Latter Iraq was allowed to sell “Oil for food” to selective buyers. Unfortunately, it wasn’t properly monitored, and Iraq started selling oil to open market buyers earning revenues that primarily went into Saddam’s bank accounts.
Saddam was alleged to re-amass weapons of warfare including chemical weapons. Then came the 9/11 mishap and America was left wounded. Evidence showed Iraq linked and harboring Al-Qaida operatives. The American president had vowed to bring Osama Bin Laden the master mind behind the 9/11 attack, to a quick justice. Furthermore, the intelligence reports confirming Iraq amass Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) became the premise of going to war with Iraq. Furthermore, America wanted to expand its war to curb “rogue nations” in the region and wanted the regime change in some of those countries. Iraq was the first target for several reasons that included (1) Saddam’s as a threat to Arab Nations, (2) to bring democracy for Iraq and let its people flourish, (3) To possibly reach an Arab-Israel relational settlement, and (4) to secure an oil source for America and the Western world. After seeking world consensus to wage a war against Iraq, America was ready to attack. China, Russia, and France did not support the war, and millions of people around the world protested in the streets of cities like London, Rome, and even parts of United States opposing US to go to war with Iraq. However, Iraq’s continued refusal to allow UN inspectors to inspect Iraq’s facilities to verify of WMD were voluntarily destroyed. While the nations against the war kept protesting and asking for more time to inspect WMD, Gen. Colin Powell announced that America with its willing partners will launch an attack on Iraq. President bush gave an ultimatum to Saddam Hussein that he and his two sons should leave Iraq. Saddam ignored the ultimatum and in result the US mission to change Iraq’s regime started on 17th of March 2003. President Bush addressed the nation of his initiation of mission “Iraqi Freedom.”

Training manual for employees of Sun Medical Equipment Inc.
Introduction.
Sun Medical Equipment Inc. is engaged in patient care medical equipment sales and service. The company operates four retail centers employing a team of 50 people trained in specific product knowledge, awareness of policy and procedures, compliance with regulatory affairs, expertise in customer care, and day-to-day operations. Due to the quick turnover of employees in the post-Covid job market, the management wants to create a series of training manuals on all the stated aspects of their operation that will be available in the corporate library for training new employees at the time of their onboarding, as well as providing refresher courses for the seasoned employees.
Importance of Training and Product Research
Sun Medical Equipment Inc. is a regulated business that three Federal agencies monitor. (1) Medicare licenses it as an equipment provider for Medicare patients, (ii) the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) monitors regulatory compliance, and (iii) the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) monitors the quality of the goods given to the patients. The management at Sun Medical strives to train their employees to strictly adhere to the supplier standards that the federal agencies stipulate. Another three state agencies also regulate the company’s operation through the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), which issues necessary licenses to operate, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Office of the Agricultural Weights and Measurements (AWM). The continuous compliance requirements make it mandatory for Sun Medical to train its employees to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. The company is always searching for new products to incorporate into its product line. Its researchers attend various seminars, exhibitions, and manufacturing facilities to learn about inventions, applications, and the associated therapeutic benefits of those devices. The information gathered is then discussed at the board level to rationalize what market segment can benefit from those devices and how marketing would be handled. Training employees with the new product knowledge is thus an ongoing process at Sun Medical Equipment Inc.
Relevance to organizational goals.
This research for new products aligns well with the ongoing operational strategy of the organization. In medical supplies, new products are constantly invented to address the ever-changing requirements of the aging population. This field of work is driven by 77 million baby boomers who lose their functionality due to illness, accidents, or debilitating diseases. They rely on pharmaceuticals to manage various ailments and medical devices to help them maintain their daily activities. Over 20 thousand devices have been invented so far to help individuals overcome their disabilities to a reasonable extent. To stay competitive, Sun Medical Equipment needs to continuously update its product lines and train its employees to understand the application of those products.
Expansion of existing Knowledge.
The employees responsible for dispensing specialty products to the end-users have received ongoing training in various products throughout their employment. This training relates to a new line of Electrotherapy devices that the company has recently included in their product line. Both FDA and CDPH classify electrotherapy devices as “legendary devices” that can only be dispensed by specially trained people holding an “License Exemptee” issued by CDPH.
Objectives of the training.
The training is a regulatory requirement for all those who would be responsible for dispensing these units to the end-user customers of Sun Medical. This training will be given to the following two employees who have been with the company for over five years.
- Benjamin Soria Manager. Sun Medical Supplies. Beaumont Branch. Benjamin has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Redlands. He has in-depth knowledge of dispensing legendary devices and holds a valid Exemptee License from CDPH.
- Asha Yaqoot. Customer service representative. Sun Medical Supplies. Redlands Branch. Ash is well-trained and, being bilingual runs the customer service department quite efficiently. This training will enable her to dispense TENS units to Spanish-speaking customers.
Once trained, the management will issue a certification of completion, and each participating employee will be credited 6 hours of continuous education.
The specific Device.
The Device is classified as a group of three electronic Devices. It is called a Transcutaneous Electronic Nerve Stimulator (TENS) unit. The word “Transcutaneous” means “Trans” (across, or traveling through) and “Cutaneous” (relating to the skin. Also Latin Cutis=skin). This small electronic device is designed to generate low voltage electrical impulses that are transferred to the user’s body through the leads and electrodes. The machine has four control settings:
- On/off switch that is graduated in 10 levels to control the intensity of the electrical impulse.
- Band width to control the length (duration) of each impulse.
- Mode switch that allows the user to select C- continuous, M-modulated, or W-wave (up and down) as per personal preference.
- Timer switch. To adjust therapy sessions from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of 90 minutes.
The Device comprises the central unit, leads, electrodes, and a holding case for easy transportation. The unit works with one 9 Volt battery.
Tens unit and electrodes.
Application:
The Device is for patients who suffer from chronic pains in the muscles and joints of the body. It emits low-degree electrical impulses that penetrate through the upper layers of the skin (cutaneous layer) and reach down to shock the nerves (Cleavlandclinic.com). It’s a palliative treatment that provides comfort and not a cure. Physicians often need time to diagnose the root cause of a pain and to decide on a curative measure which may include a long term therapy or a surgery. However, the pain needs to be managed either by drugs or a device so that a suffer can continue with the dail chores of life. The invention of TENS device addressed that requirement by scientifically studying the cause of the pain. The nerves that carry the pain signal to the brain for recognition, are given an electrical shock to distort the signal circuit. Since, the pain signals are lost on the way, the brain recognizes none, and the pain sensation is not felt anymore.
Theory:
Pain is a body’s warning system to indicate an injury, sprain, hurt, or ailment somewhere in the body. The nerves spread throughout the human body as an extensive network senses trouble spots and signals to the brain. That is where it is recognized as a trouble signal and manifested as pain. Massaging where it pains helps. The researchers concluded that in rubbing, the pain symptoms are temporarily blocked and provide relief (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov)
Product development
In developing this theory, methods were researched to block the pain symptoms from reaching the brain. Low-intensity electrical impulses penetrate the skin to shock the nerves and disrupt the pain signals, proving a highly effective soothing treatment (comforting treatment). Thus, the TENS unit was invented and proved beneficial as a temporary pain treatment for millions of patients (tens.net/a-concise-history-of-the-tens-unit).

Leads
Electrodes.
The LCD screen on the unit controls four functions.
- Timer. Therapy time can be adjusted from 15 minutes to 90 minutes.
- Pulse style can be adjusted as constant, bursting, or modulated.
- Bandwidth duration.
- Intensity of impulses in 10 levels.
Therapy method.
- Two leads are connected to the base unit.
- Each lead ends as two red and black pins, denoting negative and positive charges.
- Each lead is connected to the electrodes (four pieces).
Next, the electrodes are placed around the point of pain in the patient’s body.
The patient can sit, walk, or continue doing regular household chores while taking the therapy of the desired duration, ranging from a minimum of 15 minutes to a maximum of 90 minutes (sharedfiles.mayoclinic.org/bedside/open/GNT-20248283.html).
Simulation.
The two trainees were each given a set of TENS UNIT to examine physically and to master the four sets of controls, correct installation of the leads, insertion of the electrodes, and proper placements. Mannequins were used to simulate the placement of electrodes, as illustrated in the following diagram.
Results.
The efficacy of the therapy can last up to six hours, after which it can be reapplied. The treatment has no side effects and is non-habit-forming. However, it is not a cure for the underlying problem but a soothing treatment that provides comfort, enabling pain sufferers to engage in everyday life activities. Driving or use of machinery while using the therapy is prohibited.
Discussion
TENS UNIT is only available to physicians’ orders who like the Device for its efficacy. It is also a quick fix for immediate symptoms and allows doctors to continue diagnosing and treating the underlying causes of the pain. The patients like it because it will enable them to regain their daily activities reasonably. Most insurance companies reimburse their members, deeming it a necessary device during treatment.
Conclusions.
The training provided vital knowledge and hands-on experience for the four employees of Sun Medical Equipment Inc. (WWW.sunmedsupplies.com). The need for this training was a part of the training series that the company developed over time. Electrotherapy devices is a new product line that the company will be marketing through the network of physicians and pain clinics. Since pain is a common ailment resulting from accidents, sports injuries, or age-related illnesses, the market potential with the baby boomer population of the society is enormous. The training will also be refreshed every quarter to include new models of the devices and to learn new technologies that may be introduced. Due to its practical benefits, the Device is expected to stay popular perpetually.
